Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work at the heart of the organisation supporting the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how we deliver our strategic ambitions. As a Project Support Officer, you will be working on a range of projects and with services across the Council to develop strategies and services which deliver on the Councils' goals. No two days in the role will be the same, therefore you will need to be adaptable, and able to quickly learn about new subject areas. You will need to build good working relationships with colleagues, and work collaboratively to help deliver priority projects. In the role, you will need to engage with a range of audiences, including lead members, senior officers, and residents. You should be able to adapt your communication style and to communicate in a range of formats. You will be expected to produce high quality reports for, and on behalf of the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive, and should be comfortable drawing on a variety of sources of information including interpreting data to inform these.
Responsibilities
* Lead research and analysis initiatives to produce high-quality, data-driven reports and presentations that translate complex information into clear, actionable insights, directly supporting strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
* Develop comprehensive and outcome-focused project briefs in close collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, resource allocation, and risk management considerations.
* Prepare and deliver reports, briefings, and presentations to internal and external audiences, supporting senior leaders in driving evidence-based policies and initiatives.
* Attend high-level meetings, producing accurate and timely records of decisions, action points, and strategic risks, while proactively following-up to maintain accountability and progress.
* Handle complex enquiries from residents and businesses, working collaboratively with the Executive Assistant and relevant teams to deliver timely and high-quality responses.
* The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across two locations (Wandsworth Town Hall and Richmond Civic Centre), and maintain a high level of office visibility.

Experience and qualifications
* Experience of supporting meetings, including drafting agendas and preparing reports.
* Experience working on projects, and create a positive, collaborative environment.
* Experience of successfully managing own workload in an environment where deadlines and priorities frequently change and are often conflicting.
* Being an innovative problem solver who can create, initiate, identify and develop new opportunities and ideas.
* Ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
