An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fulltime Support Worker within our Early Interventions in Psychosis and TransitionsService (EIP) for a one year fixed term contract. We provide a service topeople of North East Lincolnshire between the ages of 14 and 35 who may havedeveloped a First Episode of Psychosis (FEP) or be at risk of developingpsychosis, At Risk Mental State (ARMS). This is an amazing time to be joiningus as we are expanding the team with a view to eventually increase the agerange to include all working age adults.
TheEIP Service uses a normalising approach to reduce stigma and distress andpromote acceptance, tolerance and recovery. The goal of the Early Interventionservice is to provide hope and recovery.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionateteam member to support people experiencing psychosis in the community setting.The post holder will be expected to focus on the service users social,emotional, practical and vocational needs in line with the principles ofengagement, social inclusion and recovery. The role will include working withindividuals on their recovery journey and enabling them to maintain theirhealth and wellbeing through programmes such as outdoor activities, physical healthpromotion, group work, seeking opportunities in education, employment, andmeaningful activities. The post holder will be an integral part of the team andbe expected to join weekly team meetings and engage with the supervisionprocess. Can demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills bothwritten and verbal. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Abilityto manage stressful situations.

Job responsibilities

Toco-facilitate Group work and individual support in the community as required

To undertakeappropriate administrative duties to assist the team in delivering effectiveand timely care, e.g. data inputting, safeguarding, filing, computer work,photo-copying, updating patient records.
To work incollaboration with other organisations and colleagues involved in the deliveryof care.
To activelyparticipate in Team Meetings and report regularly to the Line Manager to ensureeffective communication.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 2 or 3 diploma in Health & Social Care
* Mental Health First Aid - Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level/NVQ 2 or equivalent - IT skills including ability to produce various documents in Word, and use of email and internet. -
* Care certificate in health and social care - level 2
Knowledge
* Understands the needs of people who have FEP
* Able to engage with people who have FEP
* Understands boundaries when working with people who have FEP.
* Demonstrable commitment to personal growth and development. - A willingness to work flexibly. Proven knowledge of support needs of people with mental health needs. - Proven knowledge of equal opportunities issues - Proven knowledge of health and safety issues, especially those relevant to mental health - Proven knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures relating to adults and children and young people

Experience
* Can demonstrate an understanding of Mental Health and Safety issues. To be aware of the needs of the service user and their families / carers and have knowledge of voluntary and statutory services
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, including active listening and the ability to tailor communication to different audiences.
* Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, the ability to build rapport, and create a trusting relationship with clients.
* Problem-Solving and Crisis Intervention: The ability to assess situations, de-escalate crises, and work under pressure.
* Observational Skills: The ability to notice changes in a client's behaviour and identify potential issues.
* Teamwork: The capacity to work effectively with other healthcare professionals.
* Flexibility: The ability to adapt to different work schedules and environment
* A minimum of one years experience working with people with mental health needs, or people with complex needs. - A minimum of one years experience working with young people. - Proven experience of working with people with multiple needs (e.g. mental health, homelessness, alcohol/drug dependency long term conditions). - Proven experience of carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support planning process
* Personal Experience:
* Caring for a family member with mental health challenges or having personal experience can also be beneficial.
