We are looking for a skilled self-employed gardener with strong plant knowledge and a passion for high-quality and environmentally conscious planting maintenance across London.
This role supports a growing portfolio of specialist planting schemes and offers a minimum of five days per month, with regular opportunities for additional work. Work is currently guaranteed until November 2026.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining established planting schemes to an exceptional horticultural standard, ensuring long-term plant health, biodiversity value and visual quality.
Responsibilities include:
Specialist horticultural maintenance
Monitoring plant health and diagnosing pests and diseases
Supporting biodiversity and ecological planting strategies
Producing photographic reports and maintenance feedback
Liaising professionally with clients
Working independently across multiple London sites
Essential Requirements
Strong plant identification and maintenance knowledge
Experience maintaining high-end or commercial planting schemes
Minimum 3+ years professional horticultural maintenance experience
Solid understanding of pest and disease management
Full UK driving licence
Ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements
Confident driving a van within London
Desirable Experience
RHS / NVQ horticultural qualification
Experience with biodiverse, living roof, or ecological planting schemes
Interest in sustainable horticulture and habitat-focused planting

Package
£18–£22 per hour depending on experience

Uniform provided
Consistent contract work with opportunity for additional days
