Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Beam and Block / Insulated Flooring Designer & Project Coordinator to manage the full lifecycle of beam and block and insulated flooring systems, from initial design through approval, production coordination, and site delivery.
This is a responsible, customer-facing role requiring technical competence, commercial awareness, and proactive project ownership. The successful candidate will take accountability for delivering accurate designs and a high-quality customer experience, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Drawing
* Produce accurate, compliant technical drawings for beam and block and insulated flooring projects
* Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective flooring layouts
* Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards, structural requirements, and company procedures
* Issue drawings to clients and consultants for approval within agreed timeframes
* Manage the full drawing approval process, including revisions and re-issues
* Provide clear instructions, scope, and deadlines to outsourced designers (where required)
* Review outsourced designer outputs for accuracy and alignment with client requirements
* Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, reduce risk, or enhance buildability.
Project Coordination & Customer Focus
* Take full ownership of projects from drawing approval through to delivery
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining clear, professional, and solution-focused communication
* Ensure products are ordered in line with approved drawings and specifications
* Liaise with the transport department to arrange timely site deliveries
* Coordinate with subcontract insulation suppliers to ensure correct materials and quantities are delivered
* Proactively anticipate potential delays or issues and implement corrective action
* Demonstrate a strong customer‑centric approach, ensuring client needs are understood and managed throughout the project lifecycle
Delivery, Initiative & Problem Resolution
* Act as the primary contact for project‑related queries including damaged units, shortages, site access constraints, and delivery challenges
* Take initiative in resolving issues efficiently, minimising disruption to clients and site teams
* Accept responsibility for assigned projects and follow through to completion
* Contribute ideas to improve internal processes, coordination efficiency, and service delivery
* Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable project records
* Ensure drawings, approvals, schedules, and correspondence are correctly stored within company systems
* Demonstrate a willingness to continue personal development and expand technical knowledge as systems, software, and industry standards evolve
* Remain open to training, new technologies, and improved ways of working
* Proven experience within a construction, precast, structural, or off‑site manufacturing environment
* Ability to confidently read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously
* High attention to detail and technical accuracy
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
* Clear and professional communication skills

* Competent in technical design and project administration software
* Experience working with precast concrete.
* Experience designing beam and block flooring and insulated flooring systems
* Proficiency using FloorCAD / WINFLOOR (or similar software)
* Understanding of construction approval workflows and design sign‑off processes
* Ability to think creatively to improve layouts, efficiency, and buildability
