Overview

Role
As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for Work Capability (WCA), as part of the DWP\'s Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals financially who are unable to work, or to live as much of an independent life as possible. You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, and you may conduct some assessments remotely.
An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, and the role counts towards your clinical hours, so you will maintain your registration.

Responsibilities
* Use your clinical experience to assess a diverse range of health conditions, understand how their challenges and the ways their disability affects daily life.
* Complete detailed, meaningful assessments over the telephone, video, or face-to-face, in office or home environment.
* Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.
Requirements
* We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy.
* HCPC registration is required.
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency.
