Reference: 6461de59 Personal Assistant (PA) Role – Weekend Support in Leeds LS25 I’m a 21-year-old autistic young adult looking for a friendly, chatty, and supportive Personal Assistant to help me enjoy weekends, build confidence, and explore Leeds and the surrounding areas through fun and meaningful activities. About Me I enjoy spending time with my family and my two guinea pigs, Teddy and Otis. I love going to the cinema, listening to podcasts, walking my dog Monty, and doing creative activities like drawing, painting, and diamond art. I’m also very interested in history, especially the 1940s and the Victorian era. What the Role Involves · Helping me plan fun outings such as pottery painting, cinema trips, museums, and shopping. · Planning public transport routes and supporting me to use them. · Noticing when I’m anxious and helping me stay calm. · Supporting me when talking to bus drivers, café staff, and activity staff. · Staying with me during activities so I feel safe and comfortable. · Helping me build confidence and independence at my own pace. Person Specification Essential Qualities · Patient, calm, emotionally steady, and happy to get involved in activities. · Supportive, respectful, and non-judgmental. · Reliable and consistent. · Friendly, warm, and easy to chat to. · Good at spotting when I’m anxious and helping me manage it. · Flexible with change. · Able to think on your feet. · Chatty, fun, and outgoing. · Able to think and plan new activities that I haven’t done before. Skills and Experience · Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent people, or a willingness to learn. · Clear, supportive communication skills. · Ability to help with emotional regulation. · Good at planning activities and transport. · Comfortable supporting communication in public places. Understanding of Autism and ADHD · Awareness of sensory needs and overwhelm. · Understanding of anxiety triggers and transitions. · A strength-based, person-centred approach. Practical Requirements · Able to plan and accompany me on outings. · Happy to support me during activities. · Able to help me build confidence and independence gradually. · Comfortable travelling around Leeds and nearby areas, including using public transport.
