Buyer - Construction
Location: Redditch B98
Hours: 07:30am - 16:30pm
Contract: Permanent
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Buyer to join a busy and growing construction business in Redditch.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you'll play a key part in keeping projects running smoothly - ensuring materials are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time and within budget.
You'll be at the heart of operations, working closely with site teams, commercial teams, and suppliers to make sure everything is where it needs to be, exactly when it's needed.
What You'll Be Doing
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best materials at the best price
* Managing material orders in line with project timelines and site requirements
* Sending daily order sheets and reminders to keep projects on track
* Tracking deliveries and providing accurate ETAs to site teams
* Liaising with commercial and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery
* Coordinating site logistics including muck-away, haulage, tarmac, and concrete
* Organising site-to-site transport with plant teams
* Supporting new site set-ups and project mobilisations
* Assisting in mentoring and developing junior team members
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a Buyer / Procurement role (ideally within construction)
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication skills and confidence working with suppliers and site teams
* Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset
* Team player with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
