Role: Linux Infrastructure Engineer Location: Manchester, Sheffield, Ipswich Duration: Contract Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based systems within a cloud environment. Optimize system performance and troubleshoot Linux OS, network, and application-level issues. Ensure Linux system security and implement best practices to prevent threats and vulnerabilities. Automate system administration using Ansible and shell scripting. Manage and orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker. Support technology lifecycle planning and contribute to platform roadmaps. Provide incident support and mentor team members as a technical expert. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and share knowledge within the team. Required Skills Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience. Proficient in automation tools (Ansible, Bash, Python). Hands-on experience with LVM, iSCSI, RAID, and file systems. Knowledge of KVM or other virtualization platforms. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration. Good understanding of Linux networking and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with GitLab, Jenkins, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and data center technologies. Effective documentation and communication skills. Self-driven with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
