Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate invites applications for the post of Band 6 Specialist Clozapine/Depot Mental Health Nurse.
The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary Mental Health Wellbeing Team in Redbridge.

The integrated teams will merge assessment, brief intervention, and recovery services. Our intention is not just to redesign care pathways but to develop a new ethos and culture that helps transform how we work together with our partners as ‘one team’ sharing care. There is new investment for mental health, peer support, and Support Time and Recovery workers to support the integrated teams in providing seamless care around the individual, their families, and their social networks.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to manage and have responsibility for a busy Clozapine Clinic and at times cover the Depot Clinic in absence of the regular Depot Clinic nurse. You will also have responsibility for those service users under the MHWT without Care coordinators or key workers. Your responsibility will be to ensure risk assessment are updated, medical review is booked, and physical health screening has been carried out.
The post holder will also be required to utilise evidence-based practice, client centred approaches to assess service users mental state as they attend clinic and sign post as appropriate. The Post Holder will respect diversity, practice ethically and aim to challenge inequalities within service delivery.
In consultation with the matron the post holder will maintain effective communication with statutory and voluntary services, service users and carers within NELFT and Redbridge.
The post holder will be required to undertake specific duties on behalf of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Teams, which will include supervision of some junior staff, mentorship, teaching and assessing of nursing students on placement within the team.
The post holder will contribute as required by the team manager in the process of service audit, evaluation, development in line with the National Service Framework and the Modernisation Agenda within Mental Health Services.

High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941) pro rata for part time staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. To provide a comprehensive, accessible and responsive mental health services to adults within the local area.
2. To deliver physical health interventions to patients under the service inclusive of phlebotomy.
3. To competently run and management the clozapine clinic as a team and at times autonomously.
4. To at times support in administer long acting injections alongside facilitate clozapine monitoring.
5. To continually develop clinical, team and service evaluation and delivery of the service.
6. To contribute to effective multi-disciplinary working within the MHWT and build effective liaison with community, primary and other secondary and tertiary services and agencies within the area.
