A unique opportunity has arisen at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for an experienced Nurse or ODP with a passion for Cardiac surgery and strong leadership skills. You will oversee the daily operations of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Theatres and manage the Cardiac team, working closely with the Theatre Manager to enhance theatre efficiency and utilization.
This role is ideal for someone with knowledge of cardiothoracic theatres who wishes to develop management and leadership skills. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy the dynamic environment of cardiothoracic theatres, and be committed to staff development and service efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide professional leadership for the clinical team within the Perioperative Care Directorate.
2. Manage and develop staff, ensuring all are trained, educated, and practicing in accordance with professional standards.
3. Offer clinical advice, supervision, and guidance aligned with NMC and HCPC standards.
4. Manage the clinical team budget effectively, deploying resources efficiently and raising financial concerns promptly.
