We are excited to be recruiting into this permanent full-time Band 7 Clinical Psychologist post to support adults with learning disabilities in Salford's Community Learning Disability Team. This post is available to newly qualified clinical psychologists who would be supported on a preceptorship, or as an experienced senior clinical psychologist.

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual who has a keen interest in supporting people with learning disabilities and their families/carers and someone who is a key team player to support our integrated learning disability team.
Main duties
To work in Salford Learning Disability Team as part of the Clinical Psychology team and wider Psychological Therapies team. Provide specialist clinical psychology assessment, formulation and interventions to adults with learning disabilities who present with complex difficulties, as well as their systems of support (e.g. family/staff/carers). This includes the provision of therapeutic groups and consultative advice and support.
To lead our dementia pathway whilst maintaining and developing the well-established links with the mainstream memory service in Salford and other mainstream dementia services. Responsibilities will also include training colleagues, carers and paid staff, to help build capacity and capability within the workforce.
MDT working will be integral to the role, including involvement in MDT meetings and regular liaison and joint working with professional colleagues, including support of the wider team in relation to psychological aspects of care. The post holder will supervise the assistant psychologist(s) and trainee clinical psychologists as appropriate.
To promote an understanding of the psychological needs of people with learning disabilities by taking part in professional communications, education, policy development and audit and research.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Accreditation
* DClinPsy
* HCPC registered
* Completed (or willingness to complete) Supervisor training
Desirable
* Additional training in a further specialist area of clinical psychology therapy
* Member of the BPS/FPLD
Experience
* Knowledge and experience of implementing psychological assessment/therapy
* Understanding of PBS
* Excellent communication skills with professionals and people with LD
* Work and maintain judgement under pressure/managing time
* MDT working
Desirable
* Previous experience of working within an LD setting (since qualifying)
* Previous experience of providing supervision
* Experience and skills in teaching or training others
