Housekeeper

The post holder is a member of the Facilities Team basedin Housekeeping and Domestic Services and will be responsible for carrying outcatering and cleaning duties at the Priestley site, reporting to Housekeepingand Domestic Supervisors and the Housekeeping Manager. The role requires flexibility in approach tothe duties.
Atthe time of advertising, this role does not meet the minimum requirements setby UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK. For thisreason, we are unable to sponsor anyone for a skilled worker visa for this role.

Main duties of the job
Themain duties of the role will be to clean all areas following the NationalStandards of Cleanliness, this includes signing off sheets to confirm the workhas been completed.
Servefood, complete relevant paperwork which include food temperature checks.
Preparesmall amounts of food from the freezer.
Workas a team and be able to prioritise your workload.
Potentialfor overtime if needed to cover sickness and holidays.

Toprovide a high standard of domestic, catering and general household dutieswithin a ward environment for people with mental health problems. Duties willbe carried out in line with the National standards of cleanliness.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Allmembers of hospital staff are required to respect the confidentiality ofmatters relating to patients, and report any adverse incidents to their LineManager.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
Establishand maintain good working relationships and clear areas of communications withward staff and service users whilst delivering the core duties of ahousekeeping service
a.Receiveand store all food in accordance with set standards and Trust policy.
b.Maintainaccurate records in relation to food storage and regeneration of food inaccordance with Trust policy.
c.Toregenerate/prepare and serve meals and sundry items of food in accordance withset standards. Provide and prepare adhoc meals when requested by service user, liaising with named nurse to ensurecare plans are followed.
d.Toprepare for meal times ensuring menus are displayed in accordance with setstandards.
e.Toprepare for the requisitioning of sundry items of food, cleaning materials,linen and equipment for authorisation by the Clinical or Facilities ServiceManager.
f.Removeand store dirty linen to appropriate storage area with due care and attentionto moving and handling techniques.
g.Tostore linen personal clothing as laundered and ensure sufficient stocks areavailable at all times to meet service user requirements.
h.Tolaunder bed linen within the unit as required and in accordance with Trustpolicy.
i.SupportService users in guiding them to use laundry equipment when required.
j.Communicatewith multidisciplinary teams (nursing staff, catering, dieticians andfacilities) to ensure service users receive special diets in accordance withnutritional requirements and care plans.

a.Dampdust all items in bed area, e.g. bedside cabinets, bed frame, lamps, chairs,etc (furniture in bed areas to be moved once a week to facilitate cleaning ofpipes, skirting and ledges).
b.Dampdust all other furniture and fittings, e.g. tables, trolleys, window sills.
c.Emptyand dispose of all household /clinical waste in accordance with InfectionControl and Health and Safety policies.
d.Tosupply and replenish consumables i.e. Paper towels, toilet rolls, soap etc.
e.Reportmechanical defects, pest sightings or building/environmental faults toappropriate personnel.
f.Tofollow units operational procedures for securing and locking doors.
g.Tospot clean spillages as they occur in line with Infection Control and Healthand Safety polices.
3.Dishwashing
a.Washingup teacups, saucers, side plates and cutlery after beverages and main meals.
b.Cleaningof bulk food heated trolleys after each meal.

a.Maintenanceof hard floors surfaces, eg.scrubbing and drying, redressing floor surfaceswhere applicable.

e.Thoroughcleaning of all equipment and machinery used in domestic duties.

General
Tocarry out duties having due regard to Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHHregulations. The post will involvemanual handling duties and constant movement and standing for the duration ofthe shift e.g. Dexterity whist using floor equipment, stretching, bending,lifting light weight, pushing and pulling equipment. There will be occasional exposure to noxioussmells whilst cleaning sanitary areas and smoke rooms.
Thecontent of this post will be reviewed in conjunction with the postholder whennecessary in line with service developments.

* Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety or willing to undertake and successfully complete within 12 months * (can be obtained through SWYPFT).
