Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm with 30-minute lunch break)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience and proven track record within the ecommerce packaging sector)

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Technical Leadership
- Develop and maintain parametric CAD standards for key packaging products.
- Lead all constructional design approvals and new product development activities.
- Ensure packaging solutions are technically robust, fit for purpose and optimised for manufacture.
- Provide technical quality control support alongside the CEO.
- Recommend suitable materials and design enhancements to minimise transit damage.
- Optimise deckle usage and special makings for maximum efficiency.
- Conduct and interpret packaging performance testing, including ISTA 3A drop testing and ECT/BCT assessments.
Project Management
- Manage 10-20 live development projects simultaneously.
- Guide customers through a structured six-stage design approval process.
- Produce CAD drawings and coordinate sample production.
- Oversee client approval stages for samples, keylines and artwork.
- Ensure efficient manufacturing layouts that maximise profitability within machinery capabilities.
- Maintain accurate project records within the company's CRM and MIS systems.
Team & Department Leadership
- Supervise and support the Commercial-Technical Specialist.
- Identify and improve inefficiencies within CAD workflows and approval processes.
- Promote CAD excellence and ensure the design department delivers outstanding customer experiences.
- Encourage professional development through industry exhibitions, training and knowledge sharing.
- Drive ongoing product innovation and process improvements.
Skills & Experience Required/Essential
- Significant senior-level experience in corrugated packaging design.
- Experience within ecommerce packaging and internet retail sectors.
- Advanced CAD expertise, ideally using IMPACT software.
- Strong knowledge of corrugated materials, packaging performance and transit protection.
- Experience developing packaging solutions from concept through to production.
- Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable
- Experience working with major online retailers.
- Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience.
- Knowledge of CAD parametrics.
