We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager) to lead safety compliance and promote a world‑class safety culture across our client's operations at their brand‑new, state‑of‑the‑art distribution facility in Birmingham. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe working environment, delivering training, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety standards.

Description

The EHS Manager will:

* Implement and monitor statutory safety, fire, and environmental regulations across the site.
* Oversee risk management strategies and support operational teams to achieve zero accidents.
* Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and RTITB accreditation.
* Develop and revise safety procedures, reporting on performance and recommending improvements.
* Investigate incidents and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
* Deliver training programs, including manual handling and safety passport updates.
* Maintain accurate documentation and report on quality metrics to ensure compliance.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to foster a strong safety culture.


Profile

A successful EHS Manager should have:

* Minimum 3 year's experience in a Health & Safety role.
* National NEBOSH Certificate and strong knowledge of EHS management systems.
* A hands‑on and adaptable approach to implementing processes.
* Proven ability as a self‑starter to lead and influence in a fast‑paced operational setting.
* Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capability.
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills across all levels.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and warehouse management systems.
* Willingness to travel to other sites within the UK when required.
* A background in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain, or FMCG/Pharmaceuticals.
* BREEAM accreditation knowledge (desirable).


Job Offer
