This children's home registration is associated with a school, part of Cambian's autism specialist service. It provides 52-week and 38-week care to children and young people aged 8 to 19 with Autism and related conditions. Many of the young people have communication needs and may benefit from assistive technology, now-and-next boards, or other visual communication methods. All children registered at the care homes will attend education at the on-site school.
The registered children's home operates as a single registration on-site, encompassing multiple units, each caring for up to 6 young people. This position involves responsibility for one of these units, working alongside other registered managers and the Head of Care to ensure effective service delivery.
Main duties of the job
As the Registered Manager, you will hold OFSTED registration for one of the children's care homes on site. With support from the Head of Care, you will ensure compliance with OFSTED standards, underpinned by The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, in line with the home's statement of purpose. You will provide support, guidance, and oversight to deputy managers, team leaders, and support staff to help each young person reach their full potential. An essential part of your role will be role-modeling and ensuring the full implementation of Cambian policies. You will collaborate with the school leadership to promote high standards of care and education for the young people in your care.

Knowledge
* Understanding of good management practices, employment issues, legislation, health and safety, and anti-discrimination policies.

Qualifications required
* No relevant criminal record or cautions that could impact safety or welfare.
* NVQ Level 5 related to working with children, or Dip SW, or Live RMHN.
Experience required
* At least 2 years of significant management or supervisory experience in a residential setting within the past 5 years, competent across all aspects of the role.
* Experience working effectively with children and young people with challenging behaviors, autism, and complex needs.
* Experience managing staff, including those with supervisory roles.
* Experience delivering training and coaching effectively.
