Job Summary
Great opportunity for an Artistic Officer to join the Artistic team at the Royal Academy of Dance
Job Description
About the Team
The Artistic Department, led by the Artistic Director, oversees the RAD's artistic vision, delivering exceptional and inclusive dance education. The Courses and Workshops Manager, Programme Manager, Community Partnership Builder and Dance School Principal support the Artistic Director in shaping a strategy that promotes lifelong learning, well-being, and vocational excellence.
About the role
The Artistic Officer supports the delivery of artistic activities across the RAD, working closely with the Programme Manager. This role is about creating opportunities for people to connect, move, and thrive through dance, whether that's supporting our RADiate (SEND programme), Silver Swans (55+) and Ballet Classes for Cancer in the Community programmes.
As an Artistic Officer, you'll play a key role in making sure every class, workshop, and event runs smoothly and feels welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring. You'll be at the heart of activities that bring joy and confidence to participants, from regular classes to seasonal projects, competitions, and partnerships that extend the reach of RAD's mission.
With your warmth, organisation, and adaptability, you'll help ensure that each dancer, no matter their age or background, has the best possible experience. You'll also support behind the scenes, helping with administration, finance processes, and coordination, so that our programmes can flourish and continue reaching new communities.
This is a chance to be part of a passionate team, where your work helps make a real difference through dance.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a degree or equivalent experience in Arts Administration, Event Management, Business Administration, or a related field
* Has extensive experience in administration, arts management and event coordination
* Has strong organisational skills
* Has a strong customer service background
* Has experience in supporting financial processes
Job Requirements
Due to the nature of the RAD's work, the successful candidate will be required to have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Applications which do not include a full employment history, and reference details will not be taken forward to the shortlisting stage.
The post you are applying for is classed as having a high degree of contact with children and involves 'regulated activity'. As such it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
All colleagues are required to promote and safeguard the welfare of children they are responsible for, or come into contact with, and to adhere to and ensure compliance with the RADs Safeguarding Policy at all times.
