Responsibilities Day to day management of the department Managing the performance of the team Managing the distribution of work Ensure the efficient running of production in the areas of responsibility through effective management of people, process and enforcing and upholding standards Decision-making on issues relating to production and output Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe manner providing the correct level of support and guidance to the team members Liaising with other departments to ensure there are no issues that will affect production Managing day to day people issues, such as absence, performance etc Ensuring an effective shift handover is delivered Role Specification A solid understanding of production with demonstrated experience in a supervisory position in a similar environment As a leader within this business, you will also need to enjoy working with people, be comfortable taking the initiative and making decisions, and be self-motivated, taking immense pride in your work ILM qualification (level 3 or higher) is desirable Experience in 5s implementation and sustaining Understanding of Operational Excellence Organised, systematic and methodical IATF experience is desirable Able to self-start, demonstrates high levels of integrity, enthusiasm, passion and energy whilst consistently striving to exceed expectations Experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive or aerospace industry is desirable Familiar with Continues Improvement/Problem solving tools including RCA MRB RFT Positive can-do attitude and excellent communication skills This role is based on a continental shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off - consisting of 2 12 hour day shifts and 2 12 hour night shifts.
