G1 Search is delighted to be partnering with a growing, values-led organisation based in Belfast to appoint a Fractional Chief Technology Officer.This is a high-impact leadership appointment for someone who can bring clarity, pace and strategic direction to a well-established digital transformation programme. Working on a fractional basis, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping how a customer-centric organisation uses technology to deliver better outcomes for the people it serves.A strategy is already in place and a number of significant projects are underway. The immediate priority is to take ownership of that programme, sharpen the roadmap, and ensure delivery remains focused and coordinated across multiple workstreams and external providers. This is not a role that sits above the detail. The right candidate will be as comfortable in a practical conversation about a system challenge as they are presenting priorities to the senior leadership team.As the strategy is delivered and embedded, the intention is to transition day-to-day IT management to a dedicated internal resource. The Fractional CTO will play a key role in defining that future structure, making this an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on how the organisation operates.Key Responsibilities:Lead and drive delivery of the IT and digital strategy, ensuring clear priorities, sequencing and measurable progressTranslate strategic objectives into a practical, well-managed roadmap with defined outcomes, timelines and ownershipManage and hold external IT suppliers and managed service providers to account for performance and deliveryOversee the implementation and embedding of a new integrated business management systemStrengthen IT governance, cyber security and system resilience through practical implementationIdentify and apply opportunities in AI, data strategy and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and service deliveryWork directly with internal teams to support the adoption of new systems and ways of working, ensuring changes are embedded and sustainedRequired Experience:Proven track record of leading IT strategy and digital transformation in a service-oriented, customer-facing environment, with clear evidence of translating strategy into delivered outcomesExperience of managing outsourced or managed IT service providers and holding third parties to accountSound working knowledge of cyber security frameworks, data management and IT governance, including experience working toward standards such as Cyber Essentials PlusAble to operate independently in an organisation without dedicated internal IT resource, making pragmatic decisions and maintaining momentum across competing prioritiesStrong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences, including senior leadersSector experience is not essential.
