Senior Litigation Solicitor, Belfast
Overview
Seeking an experienced Solicitor (7+ PQE) to join a reputable National law firm's Personal Injury team in Belfast City Centre. This role offers an excellent opportunity to handle large loss claims and complex High Court cases, including catastrophic injury claims.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the lead lawyer with complex injury claims, including high-value multi-track and catastrophic injury cases.
2. Manage your own caseload of claims valued between £100k-£250k.
3. Communicate with insurer clients, handle queries, and provide updates.
4. Analyze quantum evidence, prepare chronologies, and identify anomalies.
5. Use medical knowledge to identify relevant issues and instruct medical experts.
6. Draft technical advice on indemnity, liability, quantum, and causation.
7. Identify next steps, discuss with the Lead Lawyer, and take action.
8. Interview witnesses, draft statements, and liaise with involved parties.
9. Draft pleadings, instruct counsel, and attend conferences and court hearings.
10. Delegate tasks to Legal Assistants/Paralegals and oversee their development.
11. Maintain case management systems and ensure compliance with LSNI regulations.
Essential Skills & Attributes
* Qualified solicitor or relevant legal experience.
* Experience with indemnity, liability, and quantum.
* Knowledge of complex medical issues preferred.
* Critical thinking and quantum analysis skills.
* Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of litigation practice, case law, and Court Rules.
* Strong planning, prioritization, and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in IT (Word, Excel, Office).
* Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
