Senior Engineering Technician – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Technician to join a growing pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Hatfield. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will coordinate engineering activities on shift, support production operations, and mentor the next generation of engineering talent.
Working closely with the Production Engineering leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliable, GMP-compliant operation of manufacturing and packaging equipment across a rapidly expanding facility.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate day-to-day engineering activities and resource planning across manufacturing and packaging lines
* Lead and support shift technicians, providing hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting
* Perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair on oral solid dose manufacturing and packaging equipment
* Support continuous improvement, automation and smart factory initiatives across the site
* Mentor and coach engineering apprentices and trainees, supporting long-term capability development
What We’re Looking For
* 5–10 years’ engineering experience in Pharma
* Experience in maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting production equipment
* Previous supervisory, coaching, or senior technician experience
* Engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent apprenticeship
