Orion Group is working with a successful and well-established Civil Engineering client to source a Civils Project Manager to join their team based in Northern Scotland.
As the Civils Project Manager, you will initially oversee a large Earthworks project to prepare for a new Substation and associated buildings.
Applicants can be based in Glasgow or the Highlands until Q1 2026, after which they will be site-based on the Isle of Lewis for the duration of the project.
What are we looking for?
You should be skilled in delivering civil engineering projects, preferably with experience in large Earthworks projects within renewable energy, Power & Transmission, highways, or marine construction, exceeding £10m in value.
You will also need a commercial mindset with a good understanding of contracts (NEC3/4).
To succeed, you'll need excellent communication and analytical skills, along with:
* HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
* Experience managing large-scale Earthworks projects
* Proven project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management
* Ability to implement quality management processes and conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance
You must be able to work at pace, demonstrating flexibility, agility, and resilience.
Additional desirable skills:
* Familiarity with heavy civil construction techniques
* Knowledge of MCHW or National Grid specifications
* Understanding of the Scottish civil engineering sector
* Experience working in remote or island locations
