Job summary
This role as a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare offers the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal food and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals in a care home setting. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in creating menus and managing the kitchen, while ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for residents.
Main duties of the job
As a Second Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to develop nutritious and appetizing menus using fresh, seasonal produce. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring efficient operations and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. Additionally, you will engage with residents to understand their preferences and tailor the menus accordingly. This role requires a personable and warm approach, coupled with a strong understanding of nutrition and HACCP principles.
