At Teledyne Technologies, we design and deliver advanced sensing and imaging systems that support some of the world's most demanding missions. As part of our Surveillance business, you'll help customers integrate cutting‑edge airborne, maritime, and land‑based EO/IR gimbal systems into platforms that operate in rugged, real‑world environments. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working hands‑on with mission‑critical systems, and partnering directly with customers, this role offers the variety and impact you're looking for.

You'll join a globally connected Applications Engineering team that collaborates closely with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Flight Operations, and Training.

Every day brings a new opportunity to shape solutions, support field deployments, and ensure our technology performs when it matters most.

What you'll do

Provide remote and onsite technical support during system development, installation, and field integration.
Translate customer mission requirements into practical system configurations and integration plans.
Support prototype and first‑article installations to ensure smooth delivery and program success.
Deliver hands‑on troubleshooting, testing, and demonstrations of EO/IR gimbal systems.
Contribute to requirements analysis, compliance assessments, and design validation.
Assist with system performance modeling and trade studies.
Support technical proposal work, including RFP/RFI inputs and compliance matrices.
Coordinate with engineering and external vendors to define integration solutions.
Maintain strong communication with internal cross‑functional teams and external customers.

What you need

Required: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Required: Strong problem‑solving skills for complex system integrations.
Required: Excellent communication, briefing, and customer‑facing skills.
Required: Ability to work independently with sound judgment and attention to detail.
Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Required: Ability to lift up to 25 kg and travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
Advantage: 1–2 years' experience with airborne systems, EO/IR technology, or aviation/aerospace.
Advantage: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.

What we offer

Work with mission‑driven technologies supporting global airborne, maritime, and land‑based operations.
Deep engineering collaboration across Teledyne's surveillance and imaging teams.
Opportunities for hands‑on fieldwork, prototype integration, and technical problem‑solving.
A stable organization with broad technical expertise and long‑term project continuity.
Exposure to advanced systems, customer missions, and cross‑functional solution development.

What happens next

Your application will be reviewed by our talent team. Qualified candidates will be invited to a recruiter conversation followed by interviews with the hiring team. Timelines may vary based on role and candidate availability.

This position requires access to export‑controlled information or items. Applicants must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export‑control license under U.S. ITAR/EAR regulations.

Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
