TheRidings Medical Group is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our well established and supportive Integrated Clinical Team. Our team includes Advanced Care Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who work collaboratively to deliver high quality patient care across our five practices.
This position is 16 to 20 hours per week, worked across all The Ridings Medical Group sites. The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate, offering a degree of flexibility where possible. This role would suit a qualified Practice Nurse with experience in areas such as childhood immunisations, travel vaccinations, cervical cytology and chronic disease management. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively and confidently within a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a patient focused approach are essential for this role.

A key part of the role is the day to day management of chronic disease clinics, including asthma, diabetes, vascular disease and COPD. This involves tasks such as spirometry with reversibility, diabetic foot checks and interpreting blood results as part of long‑term condition monitoring.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of treatment room duties, such as wound care and dressings, suture removal, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, peak flow readings, injections, childhood immunisations and travel vaccinations, delivered under Patient Group Directions or Patient Specific Directions where appropriate. This role includes health screening and supporting clinicians with emergency care, minor surgery, coil fitting and contraceptive implant procedures. The Practice Nurse is responsible for providing high‑quality nursing care to patients, either independently or in collaboration with GPs and other healthcare professionals, in line with agreed protocols. This includes delivering evidence‑based advice to patients on general health and minor illnesses, with appropriate referrals where needed, and always working within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and scope of professional practice.
A key part of the role is the day to day management of chronic disease clinics, including asthma, diabetes, vascular disease and COPD. This involves tasks such as spirometry with reversibility, diabetic foot checks and interpreting blood results as part of long‑term condition monitoring. Accurate record‑keeping, maintaining medical supplies, adherence to infection control and health and safety policies and effective use of clinical computer systems are essential.
You will work closely with the wider practice team, assist in audits, meetings and reviews and contribute to mentoring student nurses and other healthcare professionals. Ongoing professional development is expected, including maintaining an up‑to‑date NMC portfolio, attending training and participating in personal development reviews, peer reviews and clinical supervisions.

* Registered First Level Nurse
* Good standard of general education

£21.19 to £25.22 an hour. Starting at £21.19 with annual increments to £25.22.
