About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and resilient Child Residential Support Worker's to join our dedicated team, supporting children aged 5–11 in a residential setting. This role focuses on providing trauma-informed care to children with a range of emotional and behavioural needs, helping them feel safe, valued and supported in their daily lives.
You will play a key role in building positive, long-term relationships with the children, creating a nurturing and structured environment where they can thrive. An onsite school forms part of the setting and you will support children in maintaining routines and engaging positively with their education.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting children with daily routines, including getting up, preparing for school and bedtime
* Assisting with mealtimes and promoting healthy habits
* Planning and engaging in play, activities and enrichment opportunities
* Providing consistent emotional support using a trauma-informed approach
* Managing and responding calmly to challenging behaviours
* Working collaboratively with the wider team to provide stability and continuity of care
* Building trusting, long-term relationships that promote positive outcomes
Shift Patterns
* Core shifts: 7:30am – 10:30pm
* Weekday variations may include:
* 7:30am – 2:30pm
* 2:30pm – 10:30pm
* 1 sleep-in shift per week required
Requirements
* A calm, patient and resilient nature
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a professional and supportive manner
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
* Experience working with children in settings such as residential care, schools, youth work, SEN or family support
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
