Your Day-to-Day:
* Act as the project’s single point of authority and accountability for the EC&I engineering discipline.
* Lead a multi-disciplined engineering team, depending on project scope, reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the client’s responsible engineering team.
* Develop key design deliverables such as Block Cable Diagrams, Schematics, Cable Schedules, and General Arrangements.
* Check and approve cable calculations manually or using Amtech, and lighting calculations in Dialux/Relux.
* Ensure design deliverables meet high standards and comply with relevant standards, regulations, and customer-specific standards.
* Verify that design consultants and subcontractors deploy qualified and experienced personnel.
* Produce documentation that is technically accurate, well-formatted, and professionally presented.
* Prepare and review quality plans for work packages.
* Ensure work is within scope, on time, and within budget.
* Manage technical issues, implement change controls, and address commercial impacts.
* Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations and that the designer responsibilities are fulfilled.
* Present EC&I engineering designs to clients and stakeholders, including non-discipline experts.
* Present technical solutions during design reviews and HAZOPs.
* Produce and review safety-related documents such as Hazard Management Strategies and Engineering Substantiation Reports.
* Develop estimates, define deliverables, clarify scope/exclusions, and develop program logic during bid/tender stages.
* Mentor engineers and designers to improve skills and capabilities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organizations.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following:
* At least 8+ years’ experience in industry, with a minimum of 3 years at a Senior Engineer level.
* Preferably 5+ years in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated sector.
* Legally eligible to work in the UK.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher.
* Chartered Member of the IET.
* In-depth knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives, and how to apply them.
* Proven expertise in EC&I design principles and practices.
* Strong experience in producing Technical Files for new products, plants, and equipment.
* Experience designing according to the IET 18th edition (BS7671).
