The Role – Vehicle Technician / Automotive Technician
As a Vehicle Technician based in Frome, you will report directly to the Workshop Controller and work as part of a large, experienced service team.
This position involves carrying out manufacturer-standard servicing, diagnostics, and repairs while maintaining high levels of workmanship and efficiency in a busy franchised dealership workshop.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct vehicle servicing, repairs, and scheduled maintenance
* Perform accurate diagnostic and fault-finding procedures
* Repair mechanical and electrical systems to manufacturer standards
* Communicate effectively with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle condition and safety
* Ensure all work complies with health & safety and quality control procedures
* Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
Candidate Requirements
* IMI/NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair minimum
* Previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Car Mechanic in a workshop environment
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team-based dealership environment
* Motivated to meet workshop efficiency and performance targets
* MOT Smart Card advantageous but not essential
