The successful candidate will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow.The Minimum Standards for Day Care and Childminding for Children Under Age 12 have been developed to clarify requirements laid down in the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995. In order to comply with this legislation, applicants should have reached 18 years of age by the closing date.Post involves working with children and young people and is subject to the provisions of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (N.I.) Order 2007. Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory clearance of an Access N.I. Enhanced Application.
Responsibilities
* Support the daily care and supervision of children in line with nursery policies and procedures.
* Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate activities to support learning and development.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all children.
* Support children's emotional, social, and physical development.
* Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately.
* Work as part of a team to maintain high standards of care.
* Assist with meal times, hygiene routines, and rest periods.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and management.
* Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or willing to work towards).
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for working with children.
* Experience working in a nursery, daycare, or similar childcare setting.
* First Aid training.
* Safeguarding training.
