Are you a Design Coordinator with a few years’ experience in construction, ready to take on a major, technically challenging project - but not in a rush to jump straight into a Design Manager role?
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected regional contractor working on a flagship new-build data centre in Hayes. You’ll gain exposure to cutting-edge systems, complex services coordination, and fast-moving design processes while being supported by an experienced senior team.
This role is perfect for someone who wants growth through mastery, not a title - someone who’s hungry to learn, committed to developing their craft, and ready to take ownership of design coordination on a major project.
The Role
As Design Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the Design Manager and project delivery teams to support the successful coordination of architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist packages on a mission-critical project.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in design reviews, workshops, and coordination meetings
* ️ Managing information flow, drawings, RFI logs, and design documentation
* Supporting clash detection, buildability reviews, and technical approvals
* Liaising with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams
* Tracking design progress and ensuring deliverables are met
* Learning and developing your design management skills on a high-complexity project

Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for someone who is:
* ️ Experienced in construction (2–5 years), ideally in design coordination or technical roles
* ️ Keen to learn and grow within the Design Coordinator role before progressing further
* ️ Able to manage information, communicate clearly, and stay organised
* ️ Comfortable working on technically complex projects (MEP-heavy, fast-paced environments)
* ️ A team player who values development over titles
* ️ Based in or able to commute to Hayes / West London
This role is not for someone seeking immediate promotion to Design Manager - it’s for someone who wants to become genuinely excellent at DC level before taking the next step.
