I am hiring for Chef Location: RAF Wittering (Full-time on-site; some weekend work) Contract Length: Until 31/03/2026 Job Description Key Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver daily messing, including three core meals served throughout the day. Support official, unofficial, and private functions across all Messes. Maintain strict food safety standards through due diligence checks such as temperatures, cleaning schedules, allergen control, and compliance with the Food Safety Act 1990. Ensure all kitchen areas, ancillary rooms, and equipment are cleaned and ready for handover at the end of each shift. Adhere to authorised menu guidelines, recipe cards, and cooking methods in line with MOD and industry partner standards. Manage deliveries, reporting discrepancies, maintaining kitchen security, and supporting additional tasks assigned by Mess NCOs. Essential Requirements: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. Strong written and verbal English skills for understanding documentation and customer interaction. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work varied shift patterns.
