Overview
General Property - Commercial & Domestic Loss Adjuster role with Crawford & Company. London, United Kingdom. The position involves handling a mix of high value Construction and Engineering claims, with investigations potentially UK based or overseas. This role emphasizes building and maintaining business connections and working with a broad range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Receiving and acknowledging new claims.
* Market for existing and new business lines.
* Preparing case management plans, visiting the Insured, Brokers, Claimants, Claimants’ representatives, Insurers, Re-insurers, Captives and retained Experts.
* Preparing reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim, including policy analysis and liability, quantum and future actions.
* Visiting sites, interviewing witnesses and preparing witness statements.
* Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as appropriate.
* Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications.
* Developing working relationships with existing clients and helping to identify and plan approaches to new clients.
* Maintaining and updating files and records, keeping fully up to date on any technical or legal changes that may affect a case.
* Maintaining awareness of the Business Continuity programme and your role within it.
Qualifications
* Work both externally and internally assessing large Construction & Engineering claims, adjusting said claims where appropriate.
* Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims, and preparing final reports.
* Customer focused; quality focused; team oriented.
* Reactive and proactive—meeting daily workloads, KPIs and SLAs.
* Handle and coordinate complaints and compliments; achieve targets.
* Competent use of technology; ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* A positive attitude and proactive problem-solving approach.
* Ability to coordinate multiple actions concurrently and work to given targets.
* Ensures all activities improve service for clients; builds trust and respect by keeping commitments.
* Strong written and verbal communication; knowledge sharing with others; seeks feedback and self-development (technical and behavioral).
* ACII and/or ACILA qualification.
* Experience of Engineering & Construction liability claims and/or Contractors All Risks.
