An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health Service. We are looking for a full time, Band 7 Team Leader. The postholder will Team Leadership The Specialist Mother and Baby Mental Health Service Team (SMABS) which serves Bradford, Airedale and Craven.
SMABS aspires to provide an excellent comprehensive Perinatal Mental Health Service for the women of Bradford, Airedale and Craven. We deliver a sustainable and resilient solution for women suffering from a mental illness in the perinatal period by focusing on improving outcomes for them, their infant and their families.
We do this by effective multidisciplinary integrated team working and ensuring effective prevention that responds to local need by: Intervening at preconception, during pregnancy and up to 12 months postnatally (with an ambition of extending to 24 months); Working with women high risk of or currently experiencing severe mental illness; Providing parent-infant relationship interventions; developing and delivering on-going training of professionals from multiple disciplines. Improving pathways and processes for mothers, partners, their families and professionals. Delivering a multi-disciplinary specialist perinatal mental health service to woman who present with severe/complex mental health needs.
You will be expected to lead collaboratively with another Team Lead, the Clinical Lead and the Consultant Psychiatrist(s).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide leadership, managerial and supervisory responsibility to a group of practitioners working as a multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, OT’s, nursery nurses and Psychological Therapists providing assessments and interventions within a perinatal mental health service.
The numbers of staff supervised will determine how the workload is managed between active clinical work and management responsibilities.
The post holder will assist the clinical lead and work alongside the other team managers in continually developing the service and ensuring the delivery of care and interventions in a perinatal mental health team.
Partnerships will include midwifes, health visitors, GPs, other mental health services, learning disability services, social care, physical health services, consultation to professionals in the primary care services and other adult mental health services including the voluntary sector.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Professionally recognised nurse, Social Services or AHP qualification
2. Previous experience of working in a community mental health setting
3. Able to demonstrate working at first degree level
Desirable criteria
4. Evidence of further formal management study and/ or qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Minimum of 3 years as a practicing professional in an community mental health environment
6. Able to work on own initiative, without direct supervision and recognise own limits.
7. Able to integrate and work within a multi-disciplinary team and in complex service structures.
8. Able to work flexibly and deliver a service through working practices that are dictated by service user/carer need.
Desirable criteria
9. At least 1 years management experience in a community mental health team or service
10. Willingness to receive supervision and undergo further training and development as necessary
11. Experience of leading a service reconfiguration

Essential criteria
12. Experience of budgetary & financial management
13. Experience providing clinical management and leadership to a multidisciplinary team
14. Open, participative and supportive leadership and management style
Desirable criteria
15. Knowledge of perinatal mental health difficulties and conditions.
