As a key technical contributor, the Maintenance Process Engineer will support both maintenance activities and process development initiatives on the shopfloor. This hands-on role is ideal for an ambitious engineer looking to grow into a senior engineering leadership position by progressively taking on greater responsibility in asset reliability, process optimization, and operational improvement.

This opportunity is with a large multi-national group within the industrial/manufacturing sector. They have multiple sites within the area but this role will be based exclusively from their Halifax plant.
Description
Key responsibilities:
Maintenance Support & Coordination - inspections, fault finding, repairs, including preventative and planned maintenance.
Managing contractors.
Process Development & Optimization - lean implementation, standardization, design of jigs/fixtures.
Technical Documentation & Standardization - Assist in developing SOPs, WIs, checklists.
Shop floor Optimization & Equipment Projects - Support the installation, commissioning, and integration of new or upgraded capital equipment.
Assist project leads in implementing shopfloor layout changes linked to process improvements or new equipment introduction.

Profile
A successful Maintenance Process Engineer should have:
Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
A background in engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in process improvement and equipment maintenance.
Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
Familiarity with health and safety standards in industrial environments.
Effective problem-solving and organisational skills.
