Mechanical engineer - darlington

We’re Hiring: Mechanical Engineer Darlington £40,000 – £43,000 Benefits We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a prestigious Life Sciences contract in Darlington. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regulated, technically advanced environment, maintaining critical infrastructure that supports cutting-edge scientific and research activities. What you’ll be doing: ✔️ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and building services systems ✔️ Maintaining and repairing mechanical plant and associated equipment ✔️ Fault finding and ensuring the efficient operation of critical infrastructure ✔️ Managing maintenance tasks through the CAFM system and maintaining accurate records ✔️ Supporting statutory compliance and health & safety requirements ✔️ Supervising specialist subcontractors when required ✔️ Assisting with quotations, remedial works and minor projects ✔️ Supporting contractual KPIs and service delivery standards ✔️ Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders What we’re looking for: • City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline • Experience within Facilities Management, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Data Centres or other critical environments • Strong knowledge of mechanical plant and building services systems • Proven experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills • Good understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements • Strong communication and customer service skills ⭐ Desirable: ✔️ IOSH Managing Safely ✔️ Experience with CAFM systems ✔️ Knowledge of BMS systems ✔️ Experience with HVAC, water treatment, generators, UPS systems and associated infrastructure What’s on offer: £40,000 – £43,000 salary Opportunity to work within a specialist Life Sciences environment Excellent career progression opportunities Ongoing training and professional development ⚙️ Exposure to modern facilities and critical engineering systems Permanent, stable position Comprehensive benefits package If you're a proactive Mechanical Engineer looking for your next challenge in a technically rewarding environment, we'd love to hear from you.
