As the Senior Structural Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. They are always looking to bring on new talents such as yourself and further develop your skills to enable you to grow within the company and industry!
Due to the nature of what you will be working on, you will be required to obtain high level MOD security clearance.
You will be involved in:
1. Developing and validating high‑fidelity finite‑element models for metallic, composite, and hybrid structures
2. Executing static, dynamic, vibrational, thermal, and fluid‑structure interaction analyses
3. Performing damage‑tolerance and fatigue assessments
4. Authoring concise strength‑summary reports and risk assessments that satisfy MoD and customer standards
5. Translating analysis outcomes into manufacturing instructions and inspection plans
6. Leading knowledge‑transfer workshops and maintaining model libraries
7. Championing process improvement through new software, material databases, and automation scripts
8. Representing the Company at design reviews, client briefings, and external audits
Your skillset may include:
9. BEng in Mechanical/Aerospace or equivalent
10. Experience in industrial structural‑analysis experience on metallic and composite parts
11. Proficient in MSC Nastran and pre‑processors such as Patran, Apex, Simcenter, or ANSA
12. Experienced in static, dynamic, linear and non‑linear analyses
13. Skilled in hand‑based stress calculations and fatigue life prediction
14. Experience modelling aluminium, titanium, steel and high‑strength alloys for both light‑ and heavy‑weight systems
15. Knowledge of composite lay‑up, ply‑by‑ply modelling, and defect effects
16. Capable of drafting clear, concise strength‑summary reports and risk assessments
17. Comfortable working collaboratively with design, manufacturing, testing and quality teams
18. Skilled in scripting (Python, batch) and use of high‑performance computing to streamline analyses
