Unqualified English Teacher – Secondary School (Full Time)

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for an Unqualified English Teacher to join one of our partner secondary schools on a full-time basis.
This role is ideal for Cover Supervisors, experienced Teaching Assistants, or tutors who are ready to take the next step into subject-specialist teaching. The school is looking for staff who can bring confidence, consistency, and resilience to the classroom. Behaviour can be challenging at times, but for the right person this makes the role highly rewarding, with the chance to make a real difference to students’ education.
Role Responsibilities:
* Deliver English lessons across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared resources and your own subject knowledge.
* Supervise classes in the absence of a qualified teacher, keeping students on task and engaged.
* Support pupils of all abilities, including those who may need additional encouragement to succeed.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently.
* Work alongside qualified teachers and department leaders to further develop your practice.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has excellent subject knowledge in English (literature and/or language).
* Brings experience from working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, tutor, or similar role.
* Is confident leading a classroom, with strong behaviour management skills.
* Wants to gain further experience in teaching, with a view to teacher training or career progression in education.
* Is resilient, adaptable, and motivated by the challenge of helping students thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
