GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of supportive and inclusive schools across Rotherham. As a Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA), you will work alongside class teachers to provide academic and behavioural support across the primary age range. Your role may involve working 1:1 with pupils, supporting small intervention groups, or assisting the teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. Primary TA Responsibilities: Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management Provide individual or small group support to pupils across core subjects Support pupils' emotional and academic development throughout the school day Help maintain a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback to the teacher Encourage positive behaviour and help manage classroom routines Support children during transitions, break times, and enrichment activities Promote the inclusion and engagement of all learners Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing resources and displays Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals when necessary Skills & Requirements for Primary Teaching Assistant : Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting as a Primary Teaching Assistant or similar is desirable A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous but not mandatory A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field is desirable but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal and communication skills A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting young learners Ability to work effectively as part of a team Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) Why Join GSL Education?
