Community Safety Assistant
Location: Yeovil
Hourly Rate: £14.89 - £17.50 per hour (depending on payment type)
Contract: 3 months
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Sellick Partnership Ltd is working in partnership with a well-established housing association to recruit a Community Safety Assistant. This role plays a vital part in ensuring neighbourhoods are safe, supportive places where people want to live.
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Safety Assistant, you will:
Manage cases relating to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and disclosures of Domestic Abuse (DA), ensuring all actions are taken within agreed timescales and in line with internal procedures.
Maintain accurate records and ensure a high standard of case documentation throughout.
Explore and implement both legal and non-legal solutions to resolve issues, prevent escalation, and help customers sustain their tenancies.
Communicate effectively with all relevant parties, keeping them informed within agreed timescales.
Make referrals and work closely with partner agencies to support victims of ASB or DA, particularly within complex safeguarding cases.
Prepare evidence for court, including possession and injunction proceedings, seeking legal advice where required.
Represent the organisation at court hearings and evictions when appropriate.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven experience of full ASB case management, including taking legal action.
Experience supporting customers who may be victims or perpetrators of abuse and who may present as distressed or emotionally vulnerable.
Strong resilience and the ability to manage challenging, emotional, or potentially volatile situations on a sustained basis.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends when required.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance.
