We are supporting a leading, independent construction consultancy who are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support National Grid’s Grain to Tilbury project, a critical element of The Great Grid Upgrade - the largest overhaul of UK electricity network in generations. This project will replace the existing 1960s Thames Cable Tunnel between Tilbury and Gravesend and deliver vital new infrastructure to strengthen the UK’s high-voltage transmission network.
The role will support the delivery phase of the project, encompassing the construction of a new 2.2km tunnel beneath the River Thames, installation of new 400kV cabling, construction of headhouses at each end of the tunnel, and associated reconductoring works along existing overhead line routes. This upgrade is essential to enabling secure, cleaner, and more affordable energy to flow through the national grid.
This is a site-focused role based in Kent, with flexibility where appropriate, offering the opportunity to work on a technically complex, high-profile energy infrastructure project that has received full planning approval and is moving into active delivery.
