An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established, supportive pain team in Bucks for a 12 month secondment covering maternity leave.
We are looking for an experienced nurse with sound knowledge of pain devices and assessment who is highly motivated, passionate about the patient and staff experience, and possess highly developed communication and inter-personal skills. They must be able to work within organisational structures across our Aylesbury, Wycombe and Amersham sites.

Main duties of the job
Main duties include-:
Demonstrate an informed and evidence-based criterion in assessing pain, following treatment plans and evaluating pain management outcomes.
Clearly document and communicate planned episodes of care relating to pain management and/or relevant forward referrals.
Conduct clinical visits to patients across all Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust sites.
Maintain accurate records of patient management strategies for the purposes of patient review and audit.
Provide education and information for patients, and/or their carer’s in the use of pain management techniques.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
11. Registered General Nurse
Desirable criteria
12. First level degree in nursing or relevant subject or willing to work towards
13. Teaching and assessing/mentoring qualification
14. Diploma/equivalent in pain management
Experience
Essential criteria
15. Must have at least 3 years experience working in either acute surgical or trauma areas and have sound knowledge of pain devices and assessment
16. Awareness of pain management techniques and therapy
Desirable criteria
17. Experience of teaching others
18. Awareness/experience of audit, research and development of protocols guidelines and standards
Working autonomously
