Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join our busy Agriculture & Landed Estates Team in Devizes. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced partners and a friendly, supportive team, assisting with an established caseload while also managing matters independently. The role will involve advising clients on tax planning, inheritance, and capital gains tax savings, providing tax‑efficient solutions for passing wealth to future generations, and advising on the formation and drafting of trust documents and family partnerships. Experience in deceased estate administration, particularly complex estates, would be an asset.
Responsibilities
* Advising clients on inheritance and capital gains tax planning
* Providing tax‑efficient solutions for family businesses, landed estates, and farming enterprises
* Drafting trust documents, settlements, and family partnership agreements
* Administering complex deceased estates
* Assisting partners with established caseloads while managing matters independently
* Delivering high‑quality client service with a strong focus on efficiency and accuracy
Candidate Requirements
* This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
* 5+ years PQE in private client work
* In‑depth knowledge of inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning
* Experience with trusts, settlements, and asset protection strategies
* Strong drafting skills and enjoyment of bespoke document preparation
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload under pressure
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Flexible approach and commitment to high‑quality client service
* Ability to travel to meet clients as required
* Strong ICT skills
