Job description:

Care is Central is looking for a like-minded, compassionate, and committed individual to join our brand new older persons care home, Honeysuckle House, in Flitwick, Bedfordshire.

Honeysuckle House is a brand-new, purpose-built 72-bed residential care home located within Red Kite Meadows, a state-of-the-art care village. Developed in partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council, this service is set to launch soon and we are looking for a vibrant, proactive and passionate Deputy Manager to support our team.

This exciting new role offers a unique opportunity to shape a brand-new service from the ground up. You'll play a key role in building a strong, dedicated team— working with the Registered Manager to select and onboard staff, induct them into their role and mentor them in developing a safe, compassionate and fulfilling model of care.

At Care is Central, you'll be part of an organisation that truly values its workforce, prioritises professional development, celebrates achievements, and fosters a positive, collaborative working culture.

Join us on our mission to serve the people of Central Bedfordshire by helping them, treating them well, and providing the best possible care and support.

Main Duties of a Deputy Manager:

Supporting the Registered Manager to maintain oversight of the care home, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service and ensuring high standards of care are consistently upheld.

Deputise for the Registered Manager in times of absence and leave, taking the lead on the running of the home.

Manage and mentor a care team to deliver excellent, high quality and person-centred care and support that promotes independence, privacy, dignity and choice.

Assess, monitor and review care needs of those living in the home to ensure their care plans and risk assessments are accurate, reflect individual needs, goals and aspirations and ensure that care provided ensures individuals can lead a fulfilling life.

Manage the service rota to ensure safe staffing levels at all times in accordance with the needs of the residents.

Ensure regulatory compliance by undertaking audits of key areas of service delivery, identify issues and taking timely remedial action to address concerns.

Safeguarding individuals by taking responsibility for safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management within the service with the Registered Manager.

Engaging with stakeholders by building strong, respectful and collaborative relationships with residents, their families, external professionals, and local authority colleagues.

Developing the workforce by recruiting, inducting and supporting a team of care practitioners, ensuring they work in line with our values, uphold our standards and receive regular supervision, support and guidance to enhance their practice.

Promoting inclusion & individual rights by upholding and advocating for the rights, choices, and dignity of people living in the home.
