We're working with a welcoming secondary school in Ilford looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant with Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) experience, or a strong interest in supporting communication needs.
If you're patient, proactive and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
* Supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
* Delivering targeted interventions designed by the school's SALT team
* Working one-to-one and in small groups to develop communication and social skills
* Supporting students with EHCPs both in and out of the classroom
* Helping pupils build confidence, independence and positive relationships
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families to provide consistent support
What we're looking for
* Experience supporting young people with SEN, Speech and Language needs or Autism
* A calm, positive and encouraging approach
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
* Experience within schools, healthcare, youth work, psychology, care or support settings is welcomed
* Graduates in Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Education or related fields are encouraged to apply
