This role is within our Education division—catering for students. What you'll be doing...
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily operations within contractual terms
2. Ensure food quality and service meet the company's standards through planning, cooking, and presentation
3. Comply with food and premise legislation through control procedures and record-keeping
4. Manage food production and service within a set budget
5. Handle unit clerical duties using digital or paper systems in line with policies
6. Track and reconcile expenses, cash receipts, and stock usage
7. Manage, take responsibility for, and train staff within the unit
8. Order and track supplies from approved vendors
9. Display accurate weekly menus and maintain hygiene, Food Safety, and Health & Safety standards as per regulations
10. Address incidents like accidents, thefts, or property damages with statutory notices
11. Coordinate with Area Manager/Supervisor to adjust staffing levels as needed
12. Monitor portion control and ensure cleanliness of premises and equipment, including spillages
13. Assist with dining furniture setup, cleaning, and storage
14. Report equipment defects to school/management
15. Undertake tasks as needed for efficient unit operation and fulfill company requests, including staff management

In this role:
1. Contract catering/cheffing experience is essential
2. Good secondary education; either achieved craft qualifications or willing to study for them
3. Numerate and able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
4. Potential to plan kitchen activities and organize the work of others
5. Demonstrates flair, innovation, manual dexterity, and good instructing skills
6. Potential to undertake menu planning and costing
7. Committed to achieving high standards of food hygiene
8. Relates well to staff and customers to accept more responsibility
9. Keen to learn from more experienced professionals
10. Willing & able to travel often at short notice
11. Own vehicle is essential
