For over 36 years, we have supported families facing homelessness, relationship breakdowns and other challenges, helping them build safe and stable futures. If you want to gain music instructor experience while making a real impact, this is the role for you! Your Role & Responsibilities: Lead or assist with nursery music sessions involving singing, instruments and rhythm games under the guidance and supervision of nursery staff. Use music to support communication, coordination and social interaction, encouraging children to participate and enjoy sound-based play. Adapt activities to suit different sensory or developmental needs, with support from staff where appropriate. Set up and tidy up musical instruments and materials, ensuring a safe and organised environment. Engage with children positively, modelling enjoyment and patience, and supporting them to join in at their own pace. Follow instructions from staff to ensure sessions align with daily nursery routines and are appropriate for all children, including those with SENCO support. Observe and report any safeguarding concerns or a child’s behaviour to the Nursery Manager or senior nursery staff without delay. Participate in relevant training provided by The Roberts Centre, including safeguarding, supporting children with additional needs and health and safety. Who We’re Looking For: Interest in music, early years development and learning through rhythm and songs. Ability to engage young children in musical activities with enthusiasm and patience. Confidence to sing and lead small group music sessions. Good communication skills and a helpful attitude. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Friendly, approachable, personable and patient. Respectful of confidential and sensitive information. Committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing.
