Working within a large department, the post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Anaesthetics department. Responsibilities include producing anaesthetics rotas across all sites, recording medical staff sickness, and data input. The role involves supervising a small team of administrative staff responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Anaesthetics Department and rota management.
The key duties include:
1. Managing and maintaining electronic duty and on-call rotas, ensuring completion within agreed timescales.
2. Identifying potential shortfalls in rotas and ensuring cost-effective plans for appropriate coverage.
3. Liaising with Consultants to ensure junior doctors' training needs are met when planning rotas.
4. Proactively identifying solutions to rota gap issues before escalation to the Rota Manager.
5. Organising own work schedule effectively, demonstrating good time management and reporting difficulties promptly.
6. Developing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and external organisations to ensure a courteous and efficient service.
7. Collaborating with the Rota Manager to develop and improve complaints and incident reports with clear and accurate data presentation.
