Graduate Building Services Design EngineerLocation: Cambridge City CentreSalary: £28,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Building Services Design Engineer to join a well‑established consultancy based in the heart of Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate—or someone with up to two years of industry experience—to develop their career within a supportive and forward‑thinking design team.You will work on a variety of projects acrossmercial, residential, education, and mixed‑use sectors, contributing to the design and delivery of innovative, sustainable building services solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the design of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems
2. Produce technical drawings, calculations, and specifications
3. Support senior engineers with project delivery from concept through topletion
4. Carry out site visits, surveys, and inspections
5. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
6. Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient design strategies
7. Ensurepliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
Requirements
8. Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
9. Strong interest in building services design and sustainability
10. Good understanding of engineering principles and design processes
11. Excellentmunication and teamwork skills
12. Proficiency in relevant software (, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is beneficial.
