We are looking for Volunteer Police Chaplains to support our officers and staff across Cumbria.
A vital support role within the constabulary, Chaplain’s offer officers and staff with impartial, spiritual and practical support, often during times of heightened trauma or stress.
You will utilise your experience to build report and trust, and your skill set to positively improve an individual’s wellbeing and resilience, through the pastoral care you provide.
You will be compassionate and non-judgemental in your approach with great listening skill. You will also have the confidence to go into a police station and initiate conversations with those who are working there.
You will be able to appropriately signpost colleagues in need of additional support services with information provided to you.
To enable us to truly reflect the communities we serve, we are eager to recruit people from other Faith Groups representative or lay people within Cumbria Constabulary.
You will need a relevant faith licence or professional accreditation or qualification enabling you to fulfil the role of a chaplain, which will enhance the pastoral care of our diverse officers.
You will work at the direction of the Lead Chaplin.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subject to police vetting. This process is required to ensure that Cumbria Constabulary comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice
