Volkswagen Aftersales Manager
The Murray Group is seeking an ambitious, commercially driven Aftersales Manager to lead the Aftersales function at our busy Volkswagen Retailer in Plymouth. What Youll Be Responsible For
In this key leadership role, you will oversee the full performance of the Aftersales department, ensuring operational excellence, strong profitability and an exceptional customer journey.
Leadership & Team Development
Leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary Aftersales team across service, parts and workshop
Creating a positive, high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction and operational excellence
Coaching, mentoring and developing team members through regular one-to-ones and performance reviews
Supporting recruitment, training and succession planning to build a strong future team
Operational Performance & Workshop Efficiency
Driving workshop productivity, utilisation and efficiency
Managing workshop loading, labour sales and first-time fix performance
Ensuring effective implementation of Volkswagen service core processes
Monitoring lead times, workflow and operational performance to maximise capacity and customer convenience
Commercial Performance & Profitability
Owning service, labour and parts revenue performance against targets
Managing departmental costs, margins and stock levels to optimise profitability
Driving parts sales performance, stock turn and inventory control
Using data and KPI analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Customer Experience & Retention
Delivering exceptional levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Leading the resolution of complex customer concerns with professionalism and integrity
Supporting aftersales marketing initiatives to drive repeat business and long-term customer relationships
Ensuring the highest standards of communication and service across all customer touchpoints
Compliance & Brand Standards
Ensuring full compliance with Volkswagen brand standards and manufacturer requirements
Maintaining departmental adherence to company policies and industry guidelines
Protecting departmental assets, tools and stock control processes
Who Were Looking For
We are looking for a proven automotive Aftersales leader who brings:
A strong track record managing a franchised Aftersales department
Excellent commercial awareness and a data-driven approach to performance management
Experience improving key KPIs including productivity, labour sales, margins and customer satisfaction
A confident, motivational leadership style that brings out the best in teams
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve customer concerns effectively
The ability to balance operational efficiency with exceptional customer care
