About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Head of Maths to lead our highly regarded Maths Department at a prestigious independent school. As the Head of Maths, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and inspire students from KS3 to KS5, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics. You will lead by example, ensuring the department delivers innovative and engaging lessons while promoting academic excellence, critical thinking, and a love for the subject. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled teachers, supporting their professional growth, and creating a collaborative environment that enhances student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Maths Department across KS3 to KS5, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and challenging lessons that inspire a passion for mathematics.
* Develop and implement curriculum improvements that enhance student learning and reflect current best practices in teaching and learning.
* Provide strong leadership and support to the department's teaching staff, offering guidance and fostering a collaborative approach to lesson planning, resources, and departmental initiatives.
* Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide constructive feedback to help all students achieve their best potential in maths.
* Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence in their mathematical abilities, ensuring each student's academic and personal growth.
* Encourage the development of problem-solving and critical thinking skills, incorporating real-world applications of mathematics to deepen students' understanding.
* Contribute to the broader academic and extracurricular life of the school, promoting maths-related initiatives and activities that enrich students' experience.

About You:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
* A formal teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE or equivalent).
* Proven experience teaching Maths across KS3 to KS5, with a strong track record of student success.
* Leadership experience in a department or school, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of educators.
* Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative department culture.
